Money is normally tight and I don't have the luxury of a local fabric shop anymore*pout* but I do keep an eye open for bits of fabric in our local charity shops. Today I found this dark blue check, I think it might be a wool blend with a pronounced weave, quite thick but soft and the best bit 6 yards for £8! I also got the green bit, might be a poly/cotton blend for free! will do for lining.
